Color

March 14, 2014 by MrsC | Patricia Cuyugan 8 Comments

It took me a while to decide what I wanted ti use as a subject for today’s 48 Weeks photo. The theme is color, and, well, I have so many brightly colored things at home. I have my collection of lipsticks, assorted books and notebooks wit colorful covers, markers, gel pens, crayons, and the list goes on. Today, though, I woke up missing my crochet hooks, after I realized that I hadn’t made anything in a long time. After pulling out my crochet supplies, I remembered just how colorful my set of hooks are, and so right there I figured out what I wanted my photo to look like.

Shot with a Sony TX10 camera and post-processed on Adobe Photoshop Lightroom

So, these are my crochet hooks, plus a teeny tiny cupcake I made today. I’m a little bit annoyed that my frame cut off the tip of one of the gold hooks on the right. I didn’t notice that until after I had uploaded the image, and I don’t want to have to re-edit. Oh well. Should I have put sprinkles on the cupcake?

So this photo challenge has really become more of a study in framing and photo composition for me. I’ve used our point and shoot camera in all except one of the photos. But let’s see, I still have 42 weeks to go. Hopefully I get to shift to the SLR soon.

What brings color to your life today?

Wow you’re into crochet! That was my first love too… ’til my wrist doctor asked me to stop for my hand’s sake =( I’ve a really bad case of CTS. Sucks big time!

Lovely colours of the hooks you got there! Have you tried using bamboo hooks? =)
See you again next week, Pat!

I envy! I want to learn how to crochet and knit. That should be one of my summer projects! This just got me more motivated.

Makulay ang buhay! I remember my Home Economics classes in elementary and high school. I never finished a crochet project. Thanks to my sister because without her I wouldn’t have passed this subject! Hehe. Yes, framing and composition are crucial in taking good photos. ๐Ÿ™‚ May 42 weeks pa tayo to practice.

First, I have tried crocheting. Elementary or high school days, I guess. I eventually gave it up because I haven’t thought of cupcakes. I just knew of little bags and barbie dresses that don’t match up to what’s in my imagination.

Second, why do you have so many hooks? I haven’t known there are sizes for these. I just buy them and use them. Lol. No wonder I haven’t perfected any.

Lastly, more cupcakes please!!! Hihi. When I saw your cupcake I thought about parties and giveaways! This can be the star of the loot bags! Soo adorbs.

Wow, those are some lovely crochet hooks you have there! I didn’t even know they come in colors other than the plain metallic silver. Haha. Then again, I only got to to use one in Home Economics class way back high school because it was a requirement.
