Kara + Greg
A DUKE GARDEN AFFAIR
The Story:
Kara and Greg wanted to celebrate North Carolina’s gorgeous autumn with their October 2009 wedding. The outdoor ceremony was held at Duke Gardens Pergola, where the lush green lawn and trees celebrated fall nature at it’s best. The couple used burnt oranges, deep burgundies, and rich plums to further showcase their fall theme.
While the celebration of the season was important to the couple, providing their guests with an intimate and fun atmosphere was even more important. The small area around the Pergola encouraged guests to get near to the action and see the exchange of vows close up. Greg provided a camera and tripod so guests could pose for their own pictures throughout the reception, family photos of the couple’s parents and grandparents along with memory bouquets were on display outside of the reception room at the Doris Duke Center, and the groom made sure to share a few cigars with his buddies on the back patio as the party raged on inside.
This couple really knew how to love and support each other, sealing their commitment with the bride giving her groom a nice pat on the fanny during the Best Man’s toast!
